I could hardly see the ground in front of me. The thick fog encased us on this chilly evening.
"Are we almost there?"
I said to the hunched figure that was in front of me. His black tattered cape floated behind him as he led the way through the cemetery.
"We just arrived." He croaked.
He smacked his walking stick into the damp grass in front of him. The fog blasted away from the impact, revealing many tombstones around us. A smile slowly spread across my face.
"I didn't believe you were real."
I said to the elderly man with wrinkled skin, an arched back and wispy gray facial hair.
"You haven't seen anything yet." His raspy voice called out.
I felt a rumble underneath my feet. It gradually grew into a large tremor. My eyes met the dull gray eyes of the old man, he smiled and lifted his walking stick into the air. My eyes widened as a large crypt began to rise from the ground underneath his feet. He was standing above me as it fully rose from the ground. He struck the roof of the crypt with his walking stick. Bright flashes of light broke through the darkness of this night, as the torches on the crypt flashed with brightflame. The torches would slowly pulse into different colors of flames, from icy blues, pale greens, and sinister reds. All around me the ground began to be torn up, as corpses slowly crawled up from their graves. I looked around in awe, the old man was cackling as the dead rose to their feet. This will work, I thought as I nodded my head. I will get my revenge after so long. I started to laugh out loud with the old man.
“Are they ready to go?”
The old man looked down at me and shook his head.
“Things are just getting started.” He croaked at me.
He tapped the side of the crypt with his stick, causing the large stone doors of the crypt to burst open. Cockroaches along with a large assortment of different bugs began to flood out of the crypt. They spread out throughout the cemetery, and perched themselves on the tombstones. There was a hissing and chirping sound from the large number of insects around. Slowly, the sounds of the insects began to harmonize. I was listening to an orchestra of insect noises. The strange music reached a high point, then a large echoing bang rang out through the graveyard as the zombies smacked their tombstones. The torches would flash and change color in time with the hits of the zombies. I was looking around at the strange sights around me in confusion and disbelief. Zombies that were not smacking tombstones, began to walk in time with the music to the front of the crypt. They made two rows, on either side of the crypts doors. The zombies began to growl and groan, but shortly began to hum in time and tune with the music around me. The choir of the dead started to rock side to side with each hit of a tombstone. I was no longer surprised, but just in shock. Two black shadows flew out of the crypt, I lost sight of them until they landed next to the old man on the roof. Two stone gargoyles remained still next to the old man. He put his left and right arms out to his side, a gargoyle each grabbed an arm before slowly flying him down in front of the crypt. The gargoyles lifted him on their shoulders, and raised to wings behind them to make a platform for him to stand on. He started dancing to the music around us, as the gargoyles started to walk forward. From the crypt a conga line of zombies started to follow behind him. He danced his way in front of me. Looked down and smiled before saying.
“Let's go show them one hell of a night!”
I smiled, and then looked around again. I sighed.
“Was this really necessary if we are about to go kill all of them?”
I asked him while shaking my head.
"Kill, what? No, I'm not killing anyone. Why would you even think that?” He asked and tilted his head slightly to the left.
“Won't kill anyone? What are you talking about? What kind of Necromancer are you?! ” I shouted up at him.
“Ohh you must have misheard me, i'm not the world's best Necromancer, i'm the worlds best NecroDancer haha.”
I had no words.
